Itinerary

Day 1: Cuiabá > Porto Jofre > Jaguar Expedition Boat (Sunday)
Between 8:00 - 9:00 hrs – Departure from Cuiaba city to the Jaguar Expeditions Boat. The total trip time is about 5 hours and 30 minutes. The first 1h30min is on paved road, in air conditioning vehicle, departing from Cuiabá to Poconé; and another 3h30min on the Transpantaneira Road (unpaved) from Poconé to Porto Jofre. From Porto Jofre boat trip for about 30 minutes by Cuiaba River to Mutum Expeditions Boat docking place. Arrival followed by check-in. Dinner and overnight. (L,D)

Day 2 & 3: Jaguar Expedition Boat (Monday & Tuesday)
These days will be dedicated to the search for Jaguars along the rivers banks. We will be navigating (in small motor boats) the Cuiaba, Piquiri, 03 Brothers and other rivers in search for the largest cat of the Americas, besides other wildlife, incl. caimans, giant otters, capybaras, iguanas, jabiru storks and other species that inhabit the region. Dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Jaguar Expedition Boat > Porto Jofre > Cuiabá (Wednesday)
06:30h – Check-out. Boat transfer (30 min) + car transfer (5 hours) to Cuiabá. The arrival in Cuiabá is scheduled around 13:00h. (B)

Observation

What to bring: Light weight pants, jeans, T-shirts, long sleeved shirts, shorts, bathing suit, extra socks and underwear, sandals, good walking and/or old tennis shoes, windbreaker/light rainjacket, sun hat, flash light, sun screen, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, film, extra batteries.
Sweatshirt or sweater recommended from July to September.
